Ayurvedic Medicine
She received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from Bastyr University, a four year accredited medical school. During her medical training, she participated in clinical research at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), studying botanical medicine. She later became a published research author of peer-reviewed research on PubMed. The research was with work exploring Ayurvedic botanicals, the gut microbiome, Alzheimer's disease, and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis.
She takes an integrative, root cause approach to health by combining evidence informed medicine with the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda. She has been dedicated to helping women and children achieve optimal health and improve their quality of life for the past 13 years.
She specializes in women's health, supporting patients through every stage of life. From balancing hormones and optimizing fertility to pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and perimenopause. She believes women carry countless responsibilities each day and that optimal health provides the foundation to fully enjoy life, care for loved ones, and pursue what matters most. Her goal is to help women feel their best so they can fully embrace each stage of life without their health holding them back.
She is passionate about pediatric care and empowering parents with the knowledge and tools to better understand their children's health. By identifying and addressing the underlying contributors to illness, her goal is to help families make informed, confident decisions while supporting children in achieving their healthiest potential.
Her Story:
She found Integrative Medicine after leaving her path to become an Allopathic Doctor. She was completing her second year of allopathic medical school when she realized that with western medicine, she was not going to truly help women and children in the manner that she wanted to.
She grew up with a grandfather who was an Ayurvedic Doctor. She therefore knew that therapeutic medicine was more than what she was learning and therefore changed course. Ultimately, this helped shape her into the best type of doctor she could have imagined becoming. Into the type of doctor, she would want for herself and for her children.
While she transitioned from allopathic medical school into naturopathic medical school, she managed two pediatric offices in South Carolina, where her husband was stationed as a United States Marine. She saw an endless number of children coming in for ADHD and autism and walking out with Ritalin and Adderall prescriptions. She then saw the same children coming back without little to no improvement. She knew she had to do something different to truly help these children. A year later, she began naturopathic medical school and now uses nutrition, herbal botanicals, homeopathics, drainage remedies, advanced detoxes, and more to help children.
She was able to heal herself from PCOS and Hashimoto's disease, while navigating the challenges of medical school, which only further fueled her deep passion for supporting women with hormonal imbalances and infertility. She truly believes that once you identify the root causes of why your body is manifesting disease, you can bring it back to a homeostasis.
She treasures time with her husband, their son, and their three dogs. Their family splits time between Southern Utah and Southern California, where they enjoy nature, sunshine, and building a life centered around health, family, and helping others.
